Itunes Problems 2015
I'm having problems with tracks not playing when double clicking them, track listings disappearing from view when clicking on just one of them, constantly have to resize the iTunes screen when opening because the side scroll bar is not visible. All this has only been happening since the latest update and was happening today when on the phone with support for 45 minutes (ish) whilst discussing and trying to get rid of, the biography, similar artist etc., display info that has been forced upon us. Chap from support could not understand it either, he saw it happening, and told me to submit a feedback form.
I recently had a problem with my iTunes, so I ended up deleting my itunes, including from my application folder and a bunch of other places and item relating to iTunes. Then I try to reinstall it by downloading iTunes from the Apple site and try installing it, but I keep receiving an error when I do install it saying: "the installation failed. The installer encountered an error that cause the installation to fail. Contact the software...." The error came after "validating package.."
While this process should not cause any problems with data on your Mac's hard drive, it is always safest to have a backup of your files in case something goes wrong. If you do not have a current backup, I would suggest making one now. Use the methods described in this article - Mac Basics: Time Machine backs up your Mac.
I try messing around, and once I deleted the mobiledevice.framework file in my /system/library/privateframeworks, I was able to open itunes, but now an error keeps popping up saying: "A require iTunes component is missing. Please reinstall iTunes (-42401)," which is understandable seeing how I deleted a file, but maybe this error is easier to fix. Maybe my mobiledevice.framework file/plugin is corrupted and I just need to download a new one.
Looks as though you can.macOS Monterey is compatible with these computers - Apple Support Before you jump to Monterey, you should take an intermediate step. I would suggest Catalina. How to get old versions of macOS - Apple Support Some have been having problems when going straight to Monterey. If you have any 32 bit apps or programs, they will not run in Catalina or Monterey.
I can add though that I have this iMac with 8 GB RAM and a fusion drive and Monterey is performing well on it. Not as fast, mind you as the two M1 MacBook Pros in the house, but my Mac has no problems coping with Monterey, and a little snappier I noticed compared with Big Sur.
After installing Security Update 2015-004, multiple users found that they couldn't browse to any website using the root certificate "VeriSign Class 3 Public Primary Certification Authority - G5" without a security warning ("invalid certificate"). 2015-004 updated the list of trusted root CAs, and for a reason I'm still unclear about, many of us have an identical entry in our Login Keychain. The certificate name is the same, but the serial number is wrong. The conflict causes the problem.
WARNING: I am no expert and had nothing to lose as I had everything backed up... but what i did worked 100% for me... BUT I still do not know if any of these deletions will cause additional, as yet undiscovered problems.... so far so good
Many software-related problems are fixed simply by downloading fresh updates released by the developers. If you are facing an error while updating or restoring a device through the cable, we advise you to check if there is any later version of iTunes and macOS that can be installed. You can do it via the steps:
When restoring or updating a device through iTunes, there is a chance the connection cable is damaged or badly connected. Try to look over its physical appearance for visible damage and replug it again. Make sure you plug the cable into native PC or Mac USB ports. Avoid using USB hubs and other external devices. If you remember having problems while charging as well, maybe the problem is found. Try using a different cable compatible with your iPhone, iPad, or iPod. The same problem could be with your USB port on Mac itself, so make sure you check it as well. If the cable and USB port seem fine but you continue being struck by the error, follow other solutions below.

DNS problems at Apple have knocked the iTunes Store and the iOS and OS X App Stores offline today, preventing users from downloading new apps, app updates, or media from iTunes. Apple confirmed the source of the issue in a statement to CNBC.
"We apologize to our customers experiencing problems with iTunes and other services this morning," the statement reads. "The cause was an internal DNS error at Apple. We're working to make all of the services available to customers as soon as possible, and we thank everyone for their patience."
According to Apple's system status page, the App Store has been inaccessible since 5am Eastern today. iCloud mail and iCloud sign-in services were also affected, but those problems were cleared up by 9am. Keep an eye on that page for updates about the ongoing store outages.
